Handel Lanterns

Handel Company Catalog, Lanterns and other fixtures

While visiting the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia during the summer of 2024, I came across this intriguing little seven-page trade catalog from Handel.

Although the catalog isn’t dated, the design suggests it may come from the company’s later period. In fact, Handel advertisements from 1925 feature a model similar in style to those shown here, supporting this possibility. I would welcome any evidence or insights readers might have.

The lanterns featured in this catalog appear to be quite rare. Handel typically signed their pieces, but if these examples were produced without markings, current owners may not realize their origin. If you happen to have one of these fixtures, please get in touch—it would be extremely helpful to see and share photos of surviving examples.
