A Good Tiffany Favrile Glass and Gilt-Bronze Elizabethan Table Lamp

From Sotheby's June 1996 auction of items from the Warshawsky Corporate collection.

The shade of octagonal paneled form, each panel composed of scrolling arabesques in mottled yellow-green opalescent glass and set with jewel-like glass cabochons in amber, red, green and blue, against a ground of deepest purple textured glass; raised on a twisted vine base, has finial, shade impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS N.Y. 1954, base impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/443. Height 26 1/2", diameter 24".

One of the first lamps to enter the collection, Mr. Warshawsky purchased it at auction in Enhgland, reputedly formerly from the collection of King Farouk.
