J.A. Whaley Floral Table lamp

Rare, 20 in. dia. shade has a flat top with a deep hanging border and irregular lower rim, shade is 8 in. high with a 2.75 in. dia. aperture ring at the top. The top is comprised of 8 large vibrant and colorful red, blue & green slag panels with long thin panels between resembling ribs; the border has large oriental poppy flowers with colorful petals illuminating deep red, pink, purple, yellow and orange with various blue background panels, green leaves and stems.

The shade is engineered with 4 reinforcement rods running from the top center to the sides supporting the deep border; condition of the shade is very good and in our opinion any condition notes to follow are expressed as "minor"... has a tight hairline in one large top panel, 2 large top panels have single line hairlines which have been reinforced with one line of lead-work on the obverse & reverse, a section measuring one third of the aperture ring has some extra solder to reinforce the top ring, shade is slightly out of round being indented slightly where the 4 ribs have held their place and the lower border has some typical heat cracks in the glass none of which we consider major or damaging to the shade.

On an original Whaley base having a lobed foot with a long stem, original 4 light cluster at the top having Hubbell sockets with acorn pulls and a pierced decorated Whaley heatcap with pinecone finial; base has an excellent dark brown finish. 30.5 in. high.
