John Morgan & Sons Floral Table Lamp
Outstanding early Victorian leaded glass oil lamp. It measures 25" high by 18" across shade. The leaded glass has wonderful flowers and leaves decoration with centered chunks of glass. There's also a butterfly on top of one of the flowers. It has an irregular border at top and bottom. The base which has great flame torch design and fancy filigree is signed underneath P & A which is a famous lamp parts company from Connecticut.
A lamp expert who recently wrote a book photographed it and attributed it to Morgan Lamp Company. Tiffany held the patent for this type of lamp for years and when the patent expired, there was only a short year or two when these lamps were made by other companies before electric lamps replaced them. So not too many have survived.
