Tiffany Studios, A Rare and Important Favrile Glass and Bronze Wisteria Lamp, 1899-1920

Formed on a Laburnum mold, the lobed domical shade with an all-over pattern of blossoming pendant wisteria in blue-gray, cobalt blue, medium blue streaked with emerald green and pale lavendar and purple striated and mottled glass with emerals and olive green striated and mottled glass leafage and depp chocolate and olive green branches reserved against a depp sapphire and midnight blue ground; on an adjustable expanding ribbed base cast with ogee panels enclosing berries and continuing to a lobed lower section pierced with scalops on four petal-form feet, has finial, shade impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/1539, base impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/397, accession no 82.20.447 a and b. Height 27 1/2", diameter 21".
